Marble Hill House

Spring has sprung.

What I wanted in this picture was just shape and blocks of colour
rather than detail. Matisse, one of my favourite artists, used cut-outs in his later life because arthritis prevented him from holding a paint brush.

I wanted to do the same with this picture. I thought I would be the only person to like this picture but it was the first one I sold in this series. Stripped down like this you can see more than
you can imagine.
